Symposium 15
Perovskites for Solar Cells, LEDs, and other Applications
Metal halide perovskites have drawn tremendous attention in optoelectronic applications owing to the rapid development of perovskite based solar cells, light-emitting diode, and other optoelectronic devices. This symposium aims to bring together the experts in these fields and discuss topics ranging from the materials’ fundamental properties, and their applications in these optoelectronic devices. We will cover the aspects of materials, device engineering for improved efficiency and stability, and their industrialization of solar cells, light-emitting diode devices, and other optoelectronic devices. We hope this will bring forth the advances made as well as the problems that still limit their applications.

University (with the Nobel Laureate Prof. Richard E. Smalley). He did post-doctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Toronto (with the Nobel Laureate Prof. John C. Polanyi) before joining the faculty at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is now a Professor at Peking University Shenzhen. He made significant contributions to the areas of cluster science, fullerenes and metallofullerenes, nano science and technology, soft material interfaces and functional materials and devices. His current research is focused on solar energy conversion and optoelectronic devices. He is the author/co-author of over 700 international journal publications and ~30 patents with > 60,000 citations (h-index > 130). His scientific research has been recognized by, among others, two State Natural Science Awards. He is currently an editorial board member of several international journals.
